Seed was born from three friends and colleagues – Luca, Isabella and Matteo – who wished to put together their expertise and the skills they developed along different paths in order to do something challenging and useful.

Now it has grown into a non profit enterprise involved in many projects, and with more people to support it.

Luca Botturi
Luca Botturi (coordinator)

Luca Botturi holds a Ph.D in Communication Sciences from the Università della Svizzera italiana. He worked as researcher, trainer and instructional and e-learning designer in Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Italy and the USA. Luca is currently responsible for research at the teacher training university in Locarno (Switzerland).

Luca is active as instructor in communication, education and technologies both in the academic world and in continuing education. In past years he worked as free-lance web designer, as IT consultant and as trainer, both in distance and face-to-face programs. He was engaged in projects in Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Ecuador and Mexico.

Luca is a proud father of four and plays guitar, dobro slide guitar and banjo.

At seed, Luca is project manager and executive coordinator.

Chiara Bramani
Chiara Bramani

Born in 1979, Chiara Bramani got her degree in Science of the Communication in 2003 with the specialization in business and institutional communication at the Università della Svizzera italiana of Lugano, Switzerland.

In the field of educational technology she worked at the Politecnico di Milano for 5 years, engaged in the organization and management of different projects regarding e-learning and intercultural communication.

Chiara is an experienced and passionate mountain-hiker and rock-climber.

At seed, Chiara is marketing and fund raising manager.

Luca Chiesa
Luca Chiesa

Dopo la formazione commerciale, Luca Chiesa ha ottenuto il diploma di Contabile Federale. Ha lavorato diversi anni presso la Banca Raiffeisen prima di partire come volontario in un progetto di cooperazione internazionale in Kenya. Attualmente è attivo e in formazione in progetti di educazione finanziaria.

Sara Corbino
Sara Corbino

After having graduated in 2005 from liceo scientifico, Istituto Sacro Cuore in Milan, Sara completed an undergraduate program in Communication Sciences in 2008 from Università della Svizzera Italiana.

In October 2010, Sara graduated in Communication, Management and Health from the same university.

Sara started her adventure in Seed with an internship, from July to Decemer 2009. Since January 2010, Sara has been working at Seed as a project cooperator, particularly concerning the European project COACH BOT, and the projects regarding training that are most closely bounded to the healthcare environment.

From 2006 to 2009, Sara worked by the Institute of Communication and Health of Università della Svizzera Italiana as a student assistant for research projects relating to communication and healthcare.

Sara enjoys visiting cities all over the world, and particularly loves Milan!

Matteo Jurina
Matteo Jurina

Born in Vimercate near Milano in 1979, Matteo Jurina studied at the Liceo Classico S.Raffaele di Milano, getting his degree in 1998. He is now studying Informatics at the Università degli Studi di Milano.

He works as a freelance in the field of Informatics Hardware Software since 2000. Since 2006 to 2009 Matteo Jurina is the director of an IT assistance centre.

Engaged in various projects of IT literacy in developing countries, he worked as an IT consultant and educator in Cameroon and Ghana and supported research groups in Kazakhstan, Perù and Ecuador.

Matteo likes acting and is currently involved in a theatre production.

At seed, Matteo is IT manager and web developer.

Isabella Rega
Isabella Rega

Isabella Rega holds a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences with a thesis on the role of tele-centers in socio-economic development. She also completed an executive master in Intercultural Communication from the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).

She is the executive director of the NewMinE Lab and of the RED-INK Pro*Doc and has been involved as project manager in two projects dealing with the introduction of ICT in teacher training for disadvantaged teachers in the state of Bahia (Brazil) and in the region of Cape Town (South Africa), and in a project about Community Multimedia Centres in Mozambique.

Isabella worked in some telecenters, as researcher and instructor, in Jamaica, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea and South Africa, and collaborated as online teacher for a distance university in Colombia.

Isabella likes travelling and gets mad about asymmetries.

At seed, Isabella is project manager.

Ugo Grandolini
Ugo Grandolini

Born in 1961, Ugo Grandolini has a diploma in mechanics and more than 30 years experience in software analysis and development.

Ugo is a enthusiast, dedicated and passionate professional, he likes to put Love in everything he does. He is actually working as a freelance, helping companies to optimize management issues and get better web applications and sites.

His seaplane private pilot license led him to create a company, which became the number one software house in the niche of Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons products, with thousands of customers all around the world.

At seed, Ugo is working on web-related projects, both as analyst and developer. He has also started to bring some new investors to seed activities.
